Free Backlinks and Listings for SaaS and Software

The software review sites and launch directories worth claiming if you run a SaaS or software company, anywhere.

These are the places SaaS and software companies should have a profile. Each one is a backlink, a listing, or both: a public page with your business name, website and details on a site search engines and AI tools already trust. When someone asks ChatGPT or Google for a business like yours, pages like these are part of what gets checked.

Start with the non-negotiables everyone needs (Google Business Profile, Bing Places, Apple Business). They're in the Free Backlinks and Listings 2.0 (Global). Then work through this list. Every link was checked on 25 Sep 2026.

The sheet

15 free sources, every link checked

Every source with its link, whether it's free, the type of listing and why it matters for AI search, plus a Done column to tick off as you go. Make a copy and work top down.

SaaS and software

  • G2. Reviews on the best-known B2B software review site, often cited when AI tools compare tools (Free basic, paid upgrades)
  • Capterra, GetApp and Software Advice. Three large comparison sites, often surfaced when AI tools answer 'best X software' questions (Free basic, paid upgrades)
  • TrustRadius. In-depth B2B reviews that may be quoted in AI software comparisons (Free basic, paid upgrades)
  • Product Hunt. A launch page and maker comments that give AI tools an early, dated record of your product
  • AlternativeTo. 'Alternative to X' pages match a very common AI prompt pattern
  • SaaSHub. Another 'alternatives' page that can help AI tools place you in the right category (Free basic, paid upgrades)
  • SourceForge business software listing. A long-standing software directory with category pages AI tools may read (Free basic, paid upgrades)
  • Crozdesk (vendor portal now Revleads). A comparison listing across a network of niche software sites (Unconfirmed)
  • Show HN (Hacker News). A dated discussion thread about your product on a site that is heavily crawled
  • GitHub. Public repos, READMEs and an org profile are well-crawled evidence of what your product does
  • Zapier app directory. An app page listing your integrations, which may help AI tools answer 'does X connect to Y'
  • Future Tools (AI tools). One of the few AI tool directories still free to submit to
  • Indie Hackers products directory. A founder-written product page with revenue and story, useful context for AI tools
  • Chrome Web Store. A store listing that confirms your extension exists and shows ratings (Paid)
  • BetaList. An early-stage startup listing that may be indexed (Paid)

How to use the list

  • Start with the non-negotiables (Google Business Profile, Bing Places, Apple Business, LinkedIn). They're in the free country list; this list is the extra layer for your industry.
  • Use the same business name, address and phone everywhere. Every listing should match your Google Business Profile.
  • A listing will not shoot you up the rankings on its own. It is one more public record that search engines and AI can check you against.
  • Never buy links or use link farms. Fill every profile out properly or skip it.

Once your links are claimed, go deeper

Backlinks are the trust layer. The next layer is earning the editorial links Google and AI search weight even higher, and making your on-page work for both.
