  • Incomplete LocalBusiness Snippet Configured by Squarespace. I’m stuck!

Posted by Ryan Creevey on September 22, 2020 at 10:18 pm

After auditing my Squarespace website I found Squarespace has automatically entered my localbusiness snippet as empty. Even tho I’ve filled out all relevant business information. I couldn’t find any relevant help in the course thus far.

I can only find others posting with the same problem and no solutions on forums. Is there a way to rectify this? How damaging is this to my SEO.

I now realise Squarespace has limited control but I’ve invested too many hours in the design to back out, unfortunately.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey Ryan,

Yeah, unfortunately, one of those limitations in Squarespace, essentially once you enter something even if you change it it’s not possible to override.

There are a few more limitations here so you can be aware: https://www.marksmen.studio/blog/squarespace-seo-problems-schema-markup

The good news is there is a very small SEO impact if any, and by the time you are trying to get every tiny win to get to first positions in Google you should have some money coming in to switch to another platform with more customisation.

Hope this helps but rest assured it will be fine!

    Thanks Harry.

Not as crucial as I had orginally feared.

I’ll sit out the year and move things over to another platform.

    Cheers for the help!

Yeah – still heaps of other things you can do that you can transfer over like content creation and backlinks – both of those pillars will move across to the new site :-).
